The C5102-0050 is a control cabinet PC manufactured by Beckhoff for the C5 Control Cabinets series. It serves as the central controller for PLC logic, motion coordination, and visualization inside automated machinery. Mounted in a 19-inch rack, the unit combines computing power, fieldbus interfacing, and display output so one enclosure can govern multiple machine zones without adding external PCs. In this role, it can coordinate motion axes, process field data, and present HMI content from the same cabinet location. This layout streamlines wiring and keeps heat sources inside the conditioned cabinet space used by other electrical components.
It accepts a universal mains supply of 100-240 V AC at 50-60 Hz, which avoids the need for tap-changing transformers in different regions. Plant connectivity is provided by 2 RJ-45 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that support real-time fieldbuses such as EtherCAT. For removable media and peripherals, the rear and front panels provide 4 rear and 2 front USB 2.0 ports, while display output is available through 1 DVI-I port, 1 DVI-D port, and 1 DisplayPort for separate operator and engineering screens. This arrangement keeps common service devices and removable media directly accessible from the rack. Two RS-232 ports support legacy equipment, and the chassis withstands 5 G shocks for 30 ms as well as vibration of 0.035 mm from 10 to 58 Hz or 0.5 G up to 500 Hz. Functional limits are 0 °C to 55 °C ambient temperature and 95% non-condensing humidity.
When powered, the enclosure has IP60 during operation and IP20 when not operating ingress protection, which helps keep dust out while allowing access once the system is off.
