The C3640-0010 is a panel PC produced by Beckhoff and positioned within the C3 Panel PC Units series. This unit integrates a touchscreen operator interface and an embedded computer in one housing, so an automation cell can run visualization, data logging, and control tasks without a separate industrial PC. By combining processing power with an integrated display, it shortens cabinet wiring and reduces system footprint on the factory floor.
The front panel carries a 15 in display that uses a 1024 x 768 pixel matrix on a Color TFT screen, delivering clear graphics for machine status and recipe input. Seven expansion slots are reserved inside the chassis for fieldbus, motion, or specialty cards, while one RJ-45 Ethernet port supports network exchange with PLCs or SCADA servers. Two RS-232 serial ports connect to legacy barcode readers or weigh scales, and one parallel LPT1 interface is available for printers. Four USB 2.0 ports handle removable storage or keyboard and mouse peripherals. The front surface meets IP65, sealing the display and keys against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets so the operator can clean the panel with standard plant washdown procedures. A single VGA output provides mirrored video for an external monitor, and the 15-pin D-Sub VGA connector is positioned on the rear I/O plate.
