Product Description:
The Beckhoff BK7300 EtherCAT Bus Coupler is a device used to connect and control other equipment in an EtherCAT network for various industrial processes. This bus coupler is designed to run on a 24 V DC supply voltage, with a current consumption of 70 mA + total K-bus current / 4mA, to provide high power output. The K-bus supply current is adjustable and offers a maximum current of 1750 mA, thus sufficient for powering connected devices. It is controlled by a PC software called KS2000 or a controller to enable integration of the coupler with different systems. It has up to 64 bus terminals and up to 256 digital peripheral signals, 128 analogue peripheral signals and can perform intricate automation operations.
The baud rate of the BK7300 is an essential factor for improving the speed of communication within the system. Ranging from 150 baud to 38,400 baud, this feature allows users to select the appropriate speed for the specific application. Lower baud rates are suitable for simple, slower communication, while higher rates are ideal for systems requiring faster data transfer. This flexibility ensures that the BK7300 can be adapted to various industrial setups, while balancing speed with reliability to meet specific needs.
The integration of RTU and ASCII provides flexibility and improved communication protocols. RTU is used for binary data transfer and is free from major errors, whereas ASCII is suitable for more user-friendly formats, as data needs to be further processed or directly comprehensible by a human. This means that the BK7300 can work in various systems that need both protocols, whether for real-time control or data storage. This makes it suitable for use in industrial automation systems.
