Product Description:

The AX8640-0000 belongs to one of the modules powering the Beckhoff’s AX8000 series that is to be used for the creation of DC link voltage for axis and option modules in other multiple-axis servo systems. This module can operate with three phase mains supply of 200 to 480 VOLT AC at 50/60 Hz and thanks to the design it is able to provide up to 848 VDC in the DC link circuit and up to 40A DC link output current.

The AX8640-0000 comes with built-in mains filter and complies with standard EN 61800-3, category C3 for industrial applications without electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) related restrictions. It utilizes a resistor within the chopper controller for handling regenerative energy developed in the motor during braking electronic mode. Some of the regenerative energy is stored in the capacitors of AX8810.

With the help of AX-Bridge system, the DC link, 24 V DC control voltage and EtherCAT communication can be connected without any tools which enhances the efficiency of all the setup processes. The module works according to the CiA402 drive profile over EtherCAT which facilitates connection of other components in the system. TwinCAT 3 Drive Manager 2 facilitates commissioning and system configuration as well as implementing safety projects with TwinCAT 3 Safety Editor TE9000 and TwinSAFE Loader/User TE9200. The twin AX8640 - 0000 has an operating temperature range between 0 to +40 Celsius and can even be initialized at temperatures of +55 (checks the power down). It is certified with CE, cULus, and EAC decorative approvals. These are needed for foreign trade and safety performance in the manufacture of industrial products and therefore has an international standard.
