Beckhoff’s AX8108-0100 is a single-axis module with TwinSAFE Logic embedded intended for use in multi-axis servo systems. The device is built to incorporate both a DC link and an inverter to correctly and efficiently supply motors. It is also modular in design enabling it to interfacing easily with Beckhoff power supply modules to meet the operational requirements of a given machine. This advantage is further enhanced by its acceptance of any voltage between 100 volt and 480 volt AC.
The AX8108-0100 is compatible with AX-Bridge System that provides tool free connections of DC link, 24V DC control voltage and CETH communication. The regenerative ADC technology also allows energy transfer between systems whilst decelerating or accelerating in order to retain energy optimally. Excess energy generated in the AX881x module during these times is disposed of by the use of electric brake resistors.
Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Stop 1 (SS1) are fundamental safety features to this module and can either be experienced through activation of TwinSAFE Logic, FSoE or hard wired inputs. This module is designed in strict accordance with international standards like EN ISO 13849-1:2015 (Cat 4, PL e) and SIL 3 for critical applications. The AX8108-0100 has an integrated multi-feedback interface for use with different encoders' systems, which include EnDat 2.2/22 and BiSS C, and it facilitates correct motor control. Moreover, it works flawlessly under TwinCAT 3 Drive Manager 2 for easy and straightforward installation and commissioning and can take on the roles of advanced safety projects using the TwinCAT 3 Safety Editor.
