The AX5902-0000 is a power connection module manufactured by Beckhoff for the AX Digital Servo Drives series. In an automation cabinet, it channels mains and auxiliary voltages into the servo drive stack while maintaining proper conductor spacing and tightening force. By centralizing the incoming lines, the unit simplifies installation and supports reliable energy flow to the motion axis. This arrangement reduces congestion at the supply entry point and keeps the first stage of power distribution close to the connected drive group. A compact interface like this can also make cabinet layout easier when several axes share one common supply section.

The device accepts auxiliary conductors up to 16 mm² at the Us, Up, and GND terminals, while the mains inputs accept conductors up to 25 mm² on L1 to L3 and PE. All terminations use a pluggable connector system, so the power stage can be removed without disturbing fixed field wiring. For logic supply, the control pins require 24 V DC to energize contactor release and status circuits. The internal copper rails are rated for 85 A, supporting higher-power axes while limiting unwanted heating in the connection path. A through-connected DC link ties adjacent drive busbars together, which allows shared bus potential and supports energy exchange during braking events. Because the DC link remains continuous across the stack, deceleration energy from one axis can be available to another axis that is accelerating at the same time.

Mechanical integration uses a snap-on mounting rail that lets the housing latch onto the heat sink edge of the AX5140 without extra fasteners. To secure the copper bars, the dedicated busbar screws are tightened to 2.2 Nm. The power terminals are tightened to 3.2 Nm to maintain low contact resistance during load changes. The design is short-circuit proof, which helps contain internal faults without passing damage into the upstream supply path. The through-connected link path remains available after fault clearing, and the mounting approach keeps the module aligned with adjoining drive components for a clean electrical connection path across the assembly.
