Product Description:
Beckhoff developed the AX5805 Twin SAFE Drive Option Card as a safety module that is compatible with the AX5000 series of servo drives. It's designed to have safety-related drive features that meet DIN EN 61800-5-2 standards and can handle currents from 1.5 A to 40 A.
The AX5805 option card uses the Twin SAFE / Safety over Ether CAT (FSoE) connection protocol, which allows the drive and safety controllers send and receive data without any problems. As well as stop functions (STO, SOS, SS1, SS2), the card supports a variety of safety functions built into the drive. These include speed monitoring (SLS, SSM, SSR, SMS) for up to eight speeds, position monitoring (SLP, SCA, SLI) with reference cams, acceleration monitoring (SAR, SMA), and rotating direction monitoring (SDIp, SDIn). The fault reaction time may be configured to be either equal to or less than the sentinel time. This ensures that safety incidents are promptly addressed. The card is set up using Twin CAT, and all its system-specific settings are saved in the Twin SAFE logic terminal. This means that the card can be switched out at any time without having to reconfigure the software.
The security class of the AX5805 Twin SAFE drive option card is IP20, and it weighs about 75 g. It's 11.00 × 5.50 × 2.50 cm in size, and it can work in temperatures from 0°C to +50°C. The drive option card is approved by CE and cULus on the card. It’s a reliable way to add improved safety features to the drive series. The drive option card has a safety reaction that can be set using parameters and works well with Twin SAFE logic terminals.
