Product Description:
The AX5801 is a TwinSAFE drive option card for Beckhoff’s AX5000 servo drive series. The drive includes the STO (Safe Torque Off) and SS1 (Safe Stop 1) safety functions. Two safety relays with positively driven feedback contacts are used within the module. They safely cut off the motor’s power if a fault or shutdown occurs. Both the relay coil and the feedback contacts have a 24 VDC ±20% voltage.
The feedback contact in AX5801 option card can handle a maximum switching current of 0.35 A. Use of both relays requires a typical current of 50 mA. Relay links connect using the X31 and X32 terminals. All relay coil wiring is done on Terminal X31. Pins 1 and 3 give 0V, and pins 2 and 4 let 24V flow to relays S1 and S2. Both X32 pins 5 and 6 include potential-free feedback contacts arranged in series. They are applied to ensure that safety and control are maintained as intended. The way the design is arranged in AX5801 option card provides electrical isolation between the control and relay circuits. It supports integrating functional safety factors safely and establishes them rapidly. It measures 105 mm across, 53 mm high, and 23 mm deep.
The AX5801 option card functions in a temperature range from 0 °C to +55 °C, letting you also store your data between -25 °C and +70 °C. The material lets in non-condensing humidity from 5% to 95% and air pressures from 750 hPa to 1100 hPa. The dust junction protection class is IP20, and it is also a contamination level 2. EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 EMC guidelines are followed by the AX5801. To connect your speakers safely, use ferrules. You should use a strip 10 mm in length for this wiring. Conductor cross-sections from 0.2 to 1.5 mm² are fully supported.
Frequently Asked Questions about AX5801:
Q: How does the feedback contact system enhance safety in AX5801?
A: The feedback contact system ensures real-time monitoring of relay status, aiding in immediate fault detection and system shutdown.
Q: Why are two safety relays used in AX5801 module?
A: Two relays offer redundancy, ensuring that if one fails, the other can still deactivate motor torque safely.
Q: How does using ferrules benefit the wiring of AX5801?
A: Ferrules ensure secure and reliable connections, preventing wire fraying and improving durability under vibration.
Q: What is the purpose of electrical isolation in AX5801's design?
A: Electrical isolation protects the control circuit from faults in the relay circuit, ensuring long-term reliability and safety.
Q: Why is it important to maintain specified humidity levels for AX5801 ?
A: Maintaining correct humidity levels prevents condensation and corrosion, which can lead to electrical failures in AX5801.
