The AX5203_LT00.3 is a two-axis servo drive module manufactured by Beckhoff within the AX Digital Servo Drives series. Serving as the link between a motion controller and paired synchronous motors, it modulates supply voltage to provide precise current loops for industrial automation tasks such as pick-and-place gantries, small transfer systems, or conveyor indexing. Dual channels and a shared DC bus enable compact cabinet integration while maintaining separate control of each motor. This arrangement is useful where two nearby axes must run from one compact power section while still receiving independent command handling.

Each of the drive’s 2 channels can deliver a nominal phase current of 3 A and withstand a momentary surge of 10 A, giving each axis current headroom during acceleration or rapid speed changes. Both axes draw from a shared DC link that is buffered by a 470 µF capacitor array, which helps smooth bus fluctuations when regenerated energy returns from the motors. The link voltage may rise as high as 875 VDC, so the surrounding power circuit must be matched to that level. An internal brake chopper converts surplus kinetic energy into heat at 150 W continuously, the unit provides eight digital inputs for hard-wired enable, homing, or limit-switch tasks, and the combined output reaches 4.5 A in steady operation with short bursts up to 20 A.

The housing is sized for dense cabinet layouts and measures 92 mm in width, 232 mm in depth, and 317.70 mm in height. Under worst-case load, the module dissipates only 85 W of conduction and convection heat, which helps limit thermal buildup in compact control enclosures. For applications that require rapid stops, the external brake channel can handle 15 kW when paired with a resistor no smaller than 47 Ω. The standard enclosure meets IP20 protection for installation inside a ventilated electrical cabinet.
