The AX5125-0000-0200 is a single-axis digital servo drive manufactured by Beckhoff for the AX Digital Servo Drives series. It accepts three-phase utility power, forms a regulated DC link, and produces controlled three-phase output to command synchronous or induction servomotors. By carrying out these power conversions inside the control cabinet, the unit supports precise torque and speed regulation for positioning, feeding, and coordinated motion tasks across automated production equipment. Its single-axis layout makes it suitable for applications that require dedicated control of one motor without adding unnecessary complexity to the drive system.
At 480 V, the drive can deliver an apparent power of 20.8 kVA, and its nominal output current is 25 A, supporting continuous motor torque production during steady loads. For transient demands, peak output current rises to 50 A, while the output can also be adjusted for smaller actuators when lower current limits are needed. An internal DC link rated for 875 VDC stores the rectified energy, and power dissipation in the electronics is limited to 340 W, which affects cabinet cooling requirements. When larger energy bursts occur, a resistor bank rated up to 32 kW can be connected, provided its resistance is at least 22 Ω; this helps keep the DC link voltage within limits and prevents fault shutdowns.
