It interfaces between a motion controller and a synchronous or asynchronous motor, delivering regulated current and voltage so that closed-loop positioning tasks in automated machinery can be executed with millisecond accuracy. By integrating power electronics and a DC link in a single housing, the unit simplifies cabinet layouts while supporting regenerative energy management across multi-axis systems.
The drive supplies up to 8.3 kVA of apparent power from a 400 V AC mains supply and sustains a nominal motor current of 12 A. During acceleration or shock loads, it can reach a peak output of 26 A without violating thermal limits. Its DC link is rated for a maximum of 875 VDC and is buffered by a 1175 µF capacitor bank that smooths bus ripple and stores regenerative energy. Current control is processed at full resolution, allowing fine torque modulation. Internal power dissipation is limited to 160 W during continuous operation, and the electronics are protected against overvoltage by an active brake chopper.
