Product Description:
The AX5106_LT01.10 is a single-axis digital servo drive manufactured by Beckhoff for the AX Digital Servo Drives series. It mounts in a control cabinet, draws power from a common DC bus, and supplies regulated three-phase current to rotary or linear servomotors in packaging, handling, and general automation applications. Current-vector control lets the motion CPU perform precise positioning, speed adjustment, and regenerative braking while remaining synchronized over an EtherCAT network.
The internal capacitor bank provides 235 µF of DC-link capacitance, smoothing voltage ripple while the link voltage can rise to a maximum of 875 VDC during regeneration. The inverter delivers a peak output current of 13 A, providing additional current for acceleration above the continuous load. Switching losses are managed by an integrated brake chopper that dissipates 150 W continuously. External resistors may be added so that up to 15 kW of regenerative power can be dissipated outside the enclosure. This controlled discharge helps prevent DC-link overvoltage trips during frequent deceleration.
The housing measures 185 mm in width, 232 mm in depth, and 317.70 mm in height. These dimensions allow the drive to fit standard 300-mm-deep control enclosures while leaving space for cable bends. The drive’s protective front cover carries an IP20 rating, so the unit must be installed inside a suitable control cabinet. It can operate at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C and at noncondensing relative humidity levels as high as 95%. Eight digital inputs are available for enable, limit, or latch functions, and connected sensors can draw up to 1 A from the integrated supply. The short-circuit withstand rating is 18 kA, providing a basis for coordination with upstream protective equipment. Average internal power loss is limited to 85 W, which must be considered when sizing cabinet ventilation or cooling. When external braking is required, a resistor with a minimum resistance of 47 Ω keeps the brake chopper within its current limits.
