The AX2526-B900 is a single-axis digital servo drive manufactured by Beckhoff within the AX Digital Servo Drives series. In control cabinets, it works with PLC motion libraries to provide power-stage amplification and closed-loop regulation for servo and induction motors used in packaging lines, material-handling cells, and pick-and-place stations. The unit also includes an integrated real-time network interface and local configuration switches, allowing control words, status data, and axis parameters to be handled without additional gateway hardware.

At the power stage, the drive delivers a continuous phase current of 6 A rms, with short-term availability of 12 A rms for acceleration or disturbance rejection. These currents are modulated by an output bridge that switches at 8 kHz, which helps limit motor ripple while keeping semiconductor losses manageable. A 14-bit differential input captures analog velocity or torque commands, providing fine scaling across 16,384 discrete values. Networked commands enter through the integrated Real-Time Ethernet interface on a shielded RJ45 socket, enabling cycle times below 100 µs. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the drive must be installed in a protected cabinet. Eight rotary DIP positions provide address selection, and internal logic monitors the output current form factor to keep current delivery stable during operation.

The drive dissipates only 40 W at rated current, while quiescent loss is 15 W, and both are removed by an add-on fan that snaps onto the heatsink fins. With an output current form factor of 1.01, the difference between RMS and average current remains low, which helps reduce winding temperature rise in the connected motor.
