Product Description:
The AX2523-B750-0000 is a single-axis servo drive from Beckhoff in the AX Digital Servo Drives series. Acting as a digitally controlled power amplifier, it converts motion-controller commands into regulated motor current for positioning, feed, and spindle tasks in packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and similar equipment. Closed-loop control is executed inside the drive, which reduces response latency and minimizes panel space while still meeting the deterministic timing demands of industrial automation.
The drive’s analog reference channel presents an input resistance of 20 kΩ, so standard 0–10 V or ±10 V transducers are not excessively loaded. Reference values are refreshed every 62.5 µs, giving the controller tight phase alignment with dynamic torque commands. An output stage clock of 8 kHz switches the IGBT bridge, balancing spectral content with switching losses. Continuous operation is sustained at 3 A rms, and acceleration peaks can rise to 9 A rms without tripping thermal limits. Motors with inductance as low as 12 mH remain within the current regulator’s stability range, ensuring precise current tracking during both motoring and regenerative quadrants.
The drive dissipates only 12 W in standby, and losses increase to 30 W at rated current, which helps when planning enclosure cooling. The current loop stays linear up to 75 mH of load inductance, so long motor cables or high-pole motors do not destabilize the drive. With a mass of 1.7 kg, the module is easy to mount and sturdy enough to resist vibration. Its 50 mm width, 230 mm height, and 240 mm depth permit dense side-by-side installation. Four digital inputs and two digital outputs handle overtravel, enable, or brake commands, while a current form factor of 1.01 keeps RMS and average values almost identical, limiting motor heating.
