The AX2516-B200 is a digital servo drive produced by Beckhoff as part of the AX Digital Servo Drives series. Intended for closed-loop motion control in industrial automation, it converts the DC link voltage of a multi-axis power supply into three-phase output that synchronizes motor speed and torque with the command profile. The drive incorporates an add-on fan for convective cooling, which permits continuous operation inside control cabinets without external airflow management.
The drive accepts position or velocity commands over the Beckhoff Lightbus fieldbus and reproduces them with an output stage that pulses at 8 kHz, limiting current ripple in the motor windings. The hardware can furnish up to 12 A rms for short periods to overcome inertia during rapid indexing, and power losses at rated load amount to 60 W. A quiescent dissipation of 15 W is recorded when the axes remain enabled but unloaded.
