Product Description:
The AT2050-0500 is a curved long-stator segment manufactured by Beckhoff for the AT XTS Starters series. This segment forms part of the eXtended Transport System, providing electromagnetic propulsion to independent movers along a modular track in packaging, assembly, and material-handling lines. By supplying thrust without mechanical transmissions, the segment simplifies high-speed positioning tasks inside automated machines.
It operates from a 48 V DC supply, allowing safe extra-low-voltage installation inside control cabinets. Under nominal conditions, the segment draws 16 A, and that current corresponds to a continuous output of 768 W that propels movers around the curve. The motor windings support peak demands up to 10 g of acceleration, so pick-and-place cycles can reach target velocity quickly; once accelerated, the movers can travel at 4 m/s over the clothoid arc. Built-in convection cooling removes heat without fans. The 180° curve geometry, with a 194.5 mm height, 39.1 mm width, and 306.7 mm arc length, fits common machine envelopes. Each feed section spans 3 m, so multiple segments can be chained while keeping bus distribution practical.
The segment’s circuitry consumes only 30 W/m of control power, which minimizes load on the auxiliary 24 V supply. The stator’s 267 mm motor center diameter sets the path radius and helps maintain constant normal forces on movers throughout the clothoid. A nominal 500 mm track length is covered by the part, allowing half-circle transitions without additional filler pieces. At 4.1 kg, the module is light enough to handle during installation and rigid enough to maintain coil alignment during high dynamic operation. Its curved format supports direction changes in compact layouts where straight stator sections alone would not provide the required path.
