The AT2000-0250-0002 starter segment is produced by Beckhoff as a member of the AT XTS Starters series. Designed as a long stator linear motor segment, it forms the active track that propels movers within the eXtended Transport System and thereby replaces mechanical conveyors in modular production lines. By integrating drive electronics and magnetic track in a straight 250 mm section, the unit contributes force generation and position feedback while allowing decentralized installation next to processing stations.

Electrical parameters govern how the segment interfaces with the system power supplies. The primary coils are energized from an operating bus of 48 V DC, while the internal electronics and sensors require a separate control rail of 24 V DC. At nominal load, the phase conductors draw 16 A, translating into a continuous mechanical output of 768 W along the 250 mm active length. Supervisory circuitry consumes only 30 W/m of control power, keeping auxiliary demand low even in large tracks. Cooling is achieved by natural convection, so no fans or liquid loops are necessary. Dynamic events such as rapid acceleration are handled by a temporary coil draw of <48 A, giving headroom for mover bunching without tripping supply protection. The aluminum housing measures a compact 39.1 mm in width and 96 mm in height, allowing dense track layouts inside machine frames. With a mass of only 2.0 kg, each segment adds minimal load to gantry or carousel supports while remaining easy to handle during installation. The 250 mm length also permits fine-grained track geometry, so curves, merges, and specialty process zones can be realized with identical propulsion characteristics.
