Product Description:
The AS2021-0D10 is a Beckhoff stepper motor assigned to the AS Stepper Motors series and intended for motion axes that require deterministic positioning under fieldbus control. The device advances its rotor in fixed increments, translating controller pulses into accurate shaft rotation. Its integrated encoder supplies position verification to the drive so that automated pick-and-place modules, feeders, and light conveyors can maintain commanded positions during production.
The motor provides a static holding torque of 0.83 Nm and draws a nominal winding current of 2.0 A when that torque is required. The rotor moves in increments of 1.8°, resulting in 200 full steps per revolution before microstepping is applied. A copper winding resistance of 0.80 Ω limits I²R losses at rated duty, and the housing is sealed to IP54, allowing installation in dusty environments without direct washdown. The encoder delivers 1,024 increments per revolution and operates from a 24 VDC sensor supply. This feedback works with a rotor inertia of 0.210 kg cm² to improve damping during rapid acceleration. The motor supports an axial load of up to 15 N and weighs 0.9 kg, making it compatible with compact linear stages without overstressing the bearings.
The motor has a breakdown torque of 0.63 Nm and can reach a peak speed of 3,600 rpm while encoder feedback remains active. The windings have an inductance of 3.8 mH. Combined with a back EMF constant of 239 mV/rad/s, this value helps determine suitable drive voltage and chopping frequency. Continuous operation is permitted until the internal copper reaches a maximum temperature of 120 °C, provided that the radial load at the shaft end does not exceed 63 N. The thermal limit helps protect the winding insulation during sustained operation. The radial load limit reduces stress on the shaft and bearings when the motor drives a coupled mechanism.
