The AS1060-1000 is a two-phase stepper motor manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the AS Stepper Motors series. It translates pulse trains from a motion controller into discrete shaft movements, so it can drive indexing tables, feed rollers, or compact X-Y stages that rely on open-loop yet repeatable positioning.
During operation the motor delivers a holding torque of 5.0 Nm, enough to keep loads stationary when current is applied but motion is stopped. A full revolution is divided into 200 integral steps, each defined by a 1.8° step angle, which lets control software advance the shaft in fine increments without micro-stepping. The windings require a phase current of 5.0 A; at this current level the device produces a mechanical output of 68.8 W. The laminated rotor carries 3.0 kg cm² of inertia, providing a balance between quick acceleration and smooth deceleration. Bearing design supports 191 N of radial load at the flange and 60 N of axial thrust, while the predicted bearing life is 30 000 h when these limits are respected. Radial backlash does not exceed 0.025 mm, so shaft position remains consistent when direction reverses, and overall weight stands at 2.85 kg for straightforward mounting on small frames.
