The AM8551-0E10-0000 can be classified as a robust Permanent Magnet Excited Three Phase Synchronous Motor aimed for industrial application where there is the need for high performance torques. Such a motor can operate in-between a 100 and 480 V AC and has a standstill torque of 4.80 Nm and a rated torque of 4.60 Nm. It offers a peak torque of 17.2 Nm at a rated sped of 2500 min⁻¹, and power output of 1.20 kW. Current standstill level is 2.70 A, while the maximum peak current reaches 12.1 A with a torque constant equal to 1.77 Nm/A. The Rotor Moment Inertia of the motor averages around 8.75 kgcm² and thus use where braked motors are employed and responding stability is required.
This motor some designed features has feedback resolving systems, absolute absolute single turns encoders and OCT (One Cable Technology) of resolution 18 bit either in single turn or multi-turn.
