Product Description:
The AM8121-2F10-0000 Servo Motor is the development of Beckhoff. The motor can function very well in performing industrial automation tasks and it ensures highly efficient and precise synchronous operation.
The AM8121-2F10-0000 servo motor relies on natural air flow (without a fan or liquid cooling) to dissipate heat during operation. At its holding position, it consumes 4.0 Amperes to maintain its torque. It is built to be mounted using a flange as per standardized motor mounting codes. It runs reliably within a DC voltage range between 24 and 48 volts. It can apply a torque of 0.50 Nm when it is stationary. It is made of aluminum which provides a lightweight structure with good heat dissipation and corrosion resistance. All of its electrical connections are made through an itec plug system which enables quick, secure, and industrial grade connectivity. Its rotating part has an inertia of 0.134 kgcm² which is very low that means it can accelerate and decelerate rapidly, suiting fast and precise movements. It is designed to generate a steady torque of 0.50 NM under continuous operation.
The AM series motor has a rated speed of 3000 min⁻¹ when delivering its torque. Its general body is protected against dust and splashing water and the shaft specifically has even better protection against dust and water jets. It meets European (CE) and North American (cURus) safety and quality standards which makes it globally compliant. It can continuously deliver 160 Watts of mechanical power at its rated speed and torque. The best suitable temperature for operation is 5…40°C. It used a resolver combined with an absolute encoder to precisely report its shaft position after a single revolution.
Frequently Asked Questions about AM8121-2F10-0000:
Q: How does the low rotor inertia benefit the AM8121-2F10-0000 in dynamic applications?
A: Low rotor inertia enables faster acceleration and deceleration, improving the motor’s responsiveness. It is ideal for applications requiring quick, precise movement and minimal overshoot.
Q: Why is a resolver used in the AM8121-2F10-0000 servo motor for feedback?
A: Resolvers provide reliable position feedback even under harsh environmental conditions. This enhances motion accuracy and reduces the chance of signal failure due to electrical noise.
Q: How does peak current of 17.0 A support the motor’s performance in load variations?
A: The high peak current allows the motor to handle sudden torque demands or dynamic loads. It ensures stable operation without stalling during short-term overloads.
Q: What makes the IP65 shaft seal important in the AM8121-2F10-0000 motor?
A: The IP65 seal protects the shaft from dust and water jets, improving durability. This ensures consistent performance even in semi-exposed or dusty environments.
Q: How does the torque constant of 0.13 Nm/A help with precision control?
A: A defined torque constant allows for predictable torque output per ampere. This simplifies control system tuning for highly accurate motion control tasks.
