Product Description:
The AM8072-3T21-0000 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor produced by Beckhoff and supplied under the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for precise motion control, it converts drive current into accurate rotary movement for gantries, packaging equipment, and similar automation stations. This model is the Standard version of the series. It works with a compatible servo drive to regulate shaft position, speed, and torque during automated operating cycles.
The motor’s brake coil operates at 24 VDC, allowing direct connection to common control supplies while keeping brake wiring compatible with standard machine control circuits. A 194 mm square flange provides a stable mounting face that resists torsional stress on the motor’s large frame and supports secure alignment with the driven assembly. Position data are returned through an OCT multi-turn encoder, enabling the controller to track absolute shaft position across multiple revolutions and retain machine position information after a power interruption. When applied, the holding brake provides 70 Nm of static torque, preventing unwanted load drift on vertical or suspended axes while the motor is stationary. The housing accepts a rotatable angular connector or terminal box, allowing cables to leave in a convenient direction and reducing strain on conduits in confined machine spaces.
Torque is delivered through a shaft with a keyway and feather key, ensuring keyed couplings remain secure during high-load reversals and repeated acceleration cycles. An external radial shaft-sealing ring with an IP65 rating protects the bearing region by keeping dust and low-pressure water jets away from internal components. The motor uses winding code T for its thermal and electrical characteristics, providing the current and torque relationship required for compatible drive control. Its overall length code 2 indicates the housing depth and accommodates the required magnetic stack while maintaining an installation footprint suitable for compact machine frames.
