Product Description:
The AM8063-0S10-1002 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Beckhoff as part of the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion tasks in industrial automation, it converts drive current from a matched servo inverter into precise torque and speed for axes in packaging equipment, gantry stages, and material-handling lines. Permanent-magnet excitation and electronic commutation let the motor execute coordinated profiles under EtherCAT control. This arrangement supports repeatable acceleration, deceleration, and speed regulation in automated axes that need accurate motion over changing load conditions.
For feedback, the motor integrates an OCT single-turn encoder that supplies absolute rotor position within one mechanical revolution, eliminating homing sequences at power-up. Because the encoder reports absolute position within one turn, the drive can establish the rotor angle immediately after power returns. Mechanical mounting aligns to a 142 mm square flange that matches standardized machine frames and maintains predictable shaft height. The rotor is supplied without a holding brake, so static load retention must be provided by the drive or by external locks. The motor series type is Standard, which indicates it follows the baseline housing and bearing arrangement used across the family. Power is transmitted through a smooth shaft, permitting direct clamp or hub connections where backlash must be minimized.
The motor uses Overall Length Code 3, which gives it a midsize body length that balances thermal mass with cabinet space in multi-axis installations. The Special version configuration changes features such as connector orientation or sealing from the baseline design. The motor uses an S - Special winding, which changes resistance and inductance so the delivered torque profile matches the voltage range of Beckhoff AX5000 inverters. This winding selection helps the motor operate with the intended electrical characteristics for that drive platform.
