Product Description:
The AM8041-0E20 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Beckhoff and supplied as part of the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop position and velocity control in automated machinery, where rapid response and repeatable accuracy are required to move tooling, conveyors, or gantry axes. Its synchronous design supports coordinated motion in packaging equipment, assembly cells, and material-handling systems that rely on stable servo regulation during frequent starts and stops.
An integrated absolute encoder provides OCT multi-turn feedback, so the drive always knows the rotor angle across multiple revolutions after power cycling. The motor has an 87 mm square flange, which aligns with standardized mounting patterns on gearboxes or direct-drive frames. Because the motor is delivered without a holding brake, any static load must be secured by the drive or an external locking mechanism during power-off conditions. A smooth shaft simplifies coupling to clamped hubs and eliminates keyway stress concentrations in dynamic applications. The motor is classified as standard within its series type, indicating that it follows the conventional torque-to-inertia ratio and thermal characteristics expected by general-purpose servo drives.
The motor uses an E winding code, which sets the resistance, inductance, and back-EMF values so it can reach nominal speed while remaining within the current limits of compatible AX drive controllers. The stator and rotor stack correspond to length code 1, giving a compact overall package length that eases installation in shallow cabinets or tight mechanical frames. As part of the Synchronous Servomotors product family, the motor shares connector pinouts and cooling assumptions with other models in the range. It remains compatible with Beckhoff TwinCAT motion platforms and related control hardware.
