Product Description:
The AM8032-5DH1-0000 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for demanding positioning tasks, the unit converts drive-amplifier current into precise mechanical motion for packaging machines, handling gantries, and general motion-control lines. Its standard configuration makes it a direct fit for the AX drive platform and provides the electrical and mechanical interfaces needed for dynamic speed loops in modern automation cells. It is well suited to axes that require repeatable starts, stops, and speed changes during continuous machine operation.
Mechanically, the motor carries a 72 mm square flange that aligns with ISO mounting patterns, and its overall length corresponds to code 2 to balance inertia with installation space. The integrated holding brake is energized by 24 VDC through a separate brake line. When power is removed, it can maintain loads with a holding torque in the 2–3.5 Nm range, depending on the selected rotor length. Motion feedback is supplied by an OCT multi-turn encoder that delivers 24-bit position data, allowing the controller to resolve 16,777,216 discrete increments per revolution. This combination lets the axis hold position after shutdown and report absolute rotor position immediately at startup.
For installation, power and signal leads exit through a rotatable angular connector or an optional terminal box, so cable orientation can be adapted after the motor is bolted in place. The shaft features a groove and feather key for positive torque transfer, and a radial shaft-sealing ring rated IP65 works with the available sealing-air connection to keep dust and coolant away from the bearings. Functional safety is supported up to SIL 2, enabling safe torque off when used with compatible Beckhoff drives. Thermal and electrical behavior are matched to winding code D, and the motor uses materials intended for standard industrial duty.
