Product Description:
The AM8031-2C10-0000 synchronous servo motor is produced by Beckhoff within the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This motor provides precisely regulated torque and speed for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and packaging stations where coordinated multi-axis motion is required. When paired with a compatible Beckhoff drive controller, the unit delivers deterministic positioning that supports tight process tolerances and short cycle times. Its compact mechanical envelope allows installation inside space-limited machine frames while providing the dynamic response expected from permanent-magnet servo technology.
A 72 mm square flange aligns the stator housing with gearboxes or direct-drive loads. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, which accommodates clamp-style couplings and minimizes fretting compared with keyed designs. Power and feedback connections use a rotatable angular connector or terminal box, allowing the cable exit to be oriented according to the machine layout. Rotor position is monitored by an OCT single-turn encoder, which supplies absolute feedback to the drive for immediate commutation after power-up. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so external mechanical locking or drive-generated torque must secure vertical loads when power is removed.
The motor has length code 1, which indicates the overall housing length and magnetic stack depth for this frame size. A radial shaft-sealing ring with IP65 protection guards the bearing area against dust and water jets, supporting installation in exposed machine locations. The motor uses a C winding with phase resistance and inductance values that allow the drive to calculate current limits and switching patterns. It is supplied as the Standard version and does not include enhanced cooling features or optional rotor inertia additions. This baseline configuration is suitable for machine designs that use the standard motor dimensions, shaft arrangement, feedback system, and connection layout.
