AM8031-1D21-0000 is a AM8000 series servo motor from Beckhoff Automation. An optional holding brake is available on the motor. Its voltage rating is 24 Volts DC, which is the specification for the electrical release signal the brake requires to release the shaft and allow it to rotate. The servo drive used with the motor supplies this release signal. The brake prevents accidental shaft movement, which helps to prevent injury to personnel and damage to equipment. A multi turn encoder is installed for feedback. It is a rotary encoder that tracks the position of the shaft over multiple turns, and unlike single-turn encoders, can record the total number of rotations and provide complete positional feedback.
