Product Description:
Beckhoff produces the AM8031-0C41-0000, a member of the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series used for closed-loop rotary positioning in industrial automation. As a standard synchronous servomotor, it supplies precise torque and speed to packaging lines, pick-and-place axes, and similar motion modules. The unit integrates directly with Beckhoff drive platforms and relies on electronic commutation to keep rotor and stator fields synchronized, which supports repeatable motion profiles under varying load conditions. Its synchronous design also supports accurate response during frequent starts, stops, and speed changes in automated equipment.
With a flange diameter of 72 mm, the motor shares mounting dimensions with many IEC size 72 gearheads and machine frames. Power for the electromagnetic brake is supplied at 24 VDC, matching common control cabinet auxiliary voltage. Depending on stator length, the brake can hold loads with 2 Nm to 3.5 Nm of torque to prevent axis drift during power-off. Connection routing is supported by a selectable rotatable angular connector or terminal box, which lets the cable outlet face the direction that best suits the machine layout. For position feedback, an integrated Hiperface multi-turn 128 SinCos encoder from F6 returns absolute shaft data over a single hybrid cable, enabling high-resolution control loops for tight velocity and position regulation. Multi-turn feedback also allows the drive to retain position information across more than one revolution.
The built-in 24 V holding brake is paired with winding code C in this motor configuration. A smooth shaft avoids keyway stresses and is suited for clamp or hub couplings in dynamic drives. Mechanical length is identified by overall length code 1, which helps confirm clearance within compact assemblies. The motor uses the standard version and standard motor series type within the AM family.
