Product Description:

The AM8023-1F10-0000 is a stable servomotor under Beckhoff’s high-quality product line, the AM servomotor series. Its motor feedback system incorporates one cable technology to monitor rotor parameters during normal operating conditions. The OCT feedback system includes a single-turn encoder that measures rotor movement with respect to some reference. The AM8023-1F10-0000 incorporates no blocking brake and uses convection to naturally cool the motor before, during, and after operation. As a three-phase synchronous motor, this machine converts alternating-current electricity into useful mechanical output in the form of rotation.

The torque describes the loading capability of a motor. At nominal conditions, the AM8023-1F10-0000 transmits 0.9 Nm at a functional speed of 9000 rpm. At stall conditions, however, the motor torque can reach as high as 1.2 Nm at a stationary-rotor current of 3.4 amperes. When allowed to operate at a higher excitation voltage, the AM8023-1F10-0000’s working speed increases while its torque output decreases. At a supply voltage of 480 volts, the machine operates at 9000 rpm to deliver a shaft torque of 0.9 Nm. Beckhoff’s official manual for AM motors provides the phase-phase winding resistance and inductance of the AM8023-1F10-0000, which are 3.6 ohms and 8.7 mH. Without a holding brake, the AM8023-1F10-0000 maintains a standard rotor moment of inertia of 0.38 kg (cm^2).

To fully maximize the AM8023-1F10-0000’s capabilities, it might be worth considering using Beckhoff’s drives, encoders, and/or controllers. The AM8023-1F10-0000 supports different variations of installations. Depending on the system, the motor may be installed by fixing it to another structure through its flange vertically or horizontally. The AM8023-1F10-0000 has a flange length of 58 mm, a mass of 1.7 kg, and a total frame measurement of 155.5 mm.

Q: What connection technology does the AM8023-1F10-0000 use?

A: The AM8023-1F10-0000 uses iTec connection technology, which is integral for most of Beckhoff’s AM servo motors.

Q: What is the speed range of the AM8023-1F10-0000?

A: The AM8023-1F10-0000 may safely operate anywhere between 3,500 and 12,000 rpm.

Q: What peak current can the AM8023-1F10-0000 safely draw?

A: The AM8023-1F10-0000 can draw a peak RMS current of 17.7 amperes for a short period of time.

Q: What is the maximum temperature for the AM8023-1F10-0000’s three-phase winding?

A: The AM8023-1F10-0000’s winding can operate at a ceiling temperature of 120 degrees Celsius. At 140 degrees Celsius, however, the motor employs a switch-off mechanism to halt motor excitation and operation.

Internal Product Review

  • ‘‘The AM8023-1F10-0000 is a lightweight motor by Beckhoff that performs well for high-speed systems as the main servo driver. The key component for servomotors is their sensor or encoder that allows the monitoring of motor parameters during operation. For the AM8023-1F10-0000, the feedback system is an OCT single-turn encoder that accurately determines the rotor’s linear and angular position.’’
