Product Description:

The AM8023-0E21-0000 is one of Beckhoff’s stellar products, exhibiting excellent dynamic performance. The AM8023-0E21-0000 belongs under the famous AM servo motor line by Beckhoff, offering an OCT multiturn feedback mechanism and a built-in thermal contact sensor that monitors the winding temperature during operation. When the internal temperature of the motor winding reaches 140 degrees Celsius during operation, the thermal contact resistor sends a signal to some control device or actuator that switches off the motor. In terms of its size and construction, the AM8023-0E21-0000 is a small servomotor, suitable for microsystems. It measures 190 mm and weighs only about 2 kilograms, including the holding brake.

During standstill or starting period, the AM8023-0E21-0000 achieves a motor torque and current of 1.2 Nm and 2.2 A. Whenever operated at its RMS terminal supply of 400 V, the machine’s working speed is 8000 min^-1. At this shaft speed, the product can deliver an average full-load torque and power output of 1 Nm and 0.84 kW. To ensure stable operation of the AM8023-0E21-0000, it is recommended to maintain an ambient range of temperature between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius. At most, the AM8023-0E21-0000 can achieve a maximum speed of 12,000 rpm and deliver a peak torque of 6.36 Nm.

To facilitate motor cooling during continuous mode, the AM8023-0E21-0000 employs natural convection. Since the motor undergoes an exothermic reaction during operation, it is not recommended to touch the motor with bare hands. To ensure sufficient cooling time, let the AM8023-0E21-0000 rest for at least five times its thermal constant (16 minutes) before touching or moving it. The AM8023-0E21-0000’s brake can hold a maximum torque of 2 Nm at a maximum motor internal temperature of 120 degrees Celsius.
