Product Description:
The AM8021-1B20-0000 is a synchronous servo motor built by Beckhoff and included in the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop motion axes in packaging machines, handling gantries, and assembly stations where accurate torque and position control are required. When connected to a compatible drive controller, the motor converts inverter output into mechanical rotation and supports responsive motion in automated equipment. Its servo design supports coordinated positioning, speed regulation, and repeatable cycle timing in compact automation systems. This makes the unit suitable for axes that need steady acceleration and controlled stopping during frequent start-stop operation.
A rotatable angular connector or terminal box allows power and feedback cables to exit in the direction that best suits the machine layout. Rotor position is supervised through OCT multi-turn feedback, which stores absolute position data over multiple revolutions and removes the need for homing after a power cycle. The stored absolute position improves restart behavior after interruptions and helps the control system recover the last known rotor angle. The motor mounts with a 58 mm square flange that suits compact machine frames while supporting secure attachment to the driven assembly. It is supplied without a holding brake, which reduces rotating inertia where mechanical holding is not required. The winding assignment B identifies the electrical characteristics used with the matching drive rating.
Mechanical output is provided through a shaft with groove and feather key, giving a positive connection to couplings or pulleys in accordance with DIN 6885 keyway geometry. The motor uses length code 1, which gives it a short housing for restricted installation spaces. The shorter body can also help when adjacent machine components limit available mounting depth. It is supplied in the Standard version, so it does not include special coatings, cooling channels, or extended temperature options. This configuration is suited to general industrial use where a compact footprint and standard features are preferred.
