Product Description:
The AM8021-0B11-0000 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Beckhoff within the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop positioning on packaging lines, pick-and-place axes, or small machine tools, the unit supplies repeatable motion for precise axis control. Its compact form suits tight mounting spaces and low-inertia loads, making it appropriate for short travel mechanisms that require accurate starts and stops during repeated cycles.
The motor’s 24 V holding brake is energized by a control line rated at 24 VDC, allowing the axis to lock safely when the drive is disabled. Cabling can be routed from a rotatable angular connector, or from an optional terminal box when panel wiring is preferred, and both connection styles reduce strain on the motor leads during installation. Rotor position is returned to the drive through OCT single-turn feedback, so the controller can correct any deviation within one mechanical revolution. A flange diameter of 58 mm gives the housing the same bolt circle as many compact gearheads and couplings. The integrated brake supplies a holding force of 2 Nm, which is suitable for securing lightweight vertical loads without an external clamp while the machine is powered down.
A smooth shaft simplifies coupling to zero-backlash clamp hubs that are common on small feed drives. The motor uses winding code B, which matches Beckhoff’s rated current tables for the AX5000 inverter family and helps align the electrical characteristics with compatible drive settings. It also uses overall length code 1, giving the unit a short body that eases integration into shallow machine spaces and compact axis assemblies. The motor is a Standard version, so it comes without special coatings, seals, or high-speed windings. It uses the baseline option set common to general factory automation.
