Product Description:
The AM3543-0031 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It converts electrical energy into precise rotational motion for positioning and velocity control on automated machinery, CNC stages, and packaging lines. By coupling to a drive controller, the motor supplies the commanded torque and speed profiles required for coordinated multi-axis processes, helping assemblies reach target positions quickly and repeatably within an industrial control loop. Its mechanical interface follows standard IEC dimensions, allowing straightforward integration into existing machine frames.
The motor’s electromagnetic brake circuit is rated at 24 VDC, so the drive cabinet can power the brake directly from a common 24-volt control supply without additional converters. A square mounting flange of 87 mm sets the bolt circle and shaft height, simplifying direct replacement in IEC 72-compliant layouts. When power is removed, the integrated 24 V holding brake clamps the rotor, preventing uncommanded motion on vertical or load-bearing axes. Position feedback is delivered through a Hiperface single-turn 128 SinCos encoder, giving the drive 128 sine and cosine periods per revolution for fine commutation and position resolution. The rotor has an increased mass moment of inertia, which stores more kinetic energy and can damp speed ripple in systems with rapidly changing loads.
The brake can resist twisting loads up to 9 Nm, allowing the axis to maintain position during emergency stops or while power is off. The motor uses length code 3, indicating the third housing depth available within the AM35 family. A smooth shaft is supplied, so torque is transmitted through clamping couplings or friction-locked hubs rather than keyways, which can help reduce backlash at high servo bandwidths. It is intended to operate with compatible AX series drives that support its electrical and feedback interfaces.
