The AM3051-0E31-0000 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Beckhoff for the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It belongs to the standard version of the range and generates accurate, dynamically controlled rotary motion for industrial automation equipment. In indexing tables, the motor can rotate a workpiece to programmed positions while the connected drive regulates acceleration and deceleration. It can also operate feeders and articulated axes that require repeatable positioning, controlled speed, and responsive torque under changing loads.
Electrical power, brake conductors, and encoder lines exit through a rotatable angular connector that can be positioned to accommodate the machine’s cable route. An optional terminal box is available when the installation requires rigid wiring rather than a plug connection. Rotor position feedback is provided by a Hiperface single-turn sensor with 128 SinCos periods from the F6 group, allowing the drive to interpolate the feedback signal for smooth motion. A square 104 mm flange aligns the housing with compatible motor plates and supports direct attachment to the machine structure. The motor has length code 1, which keeps its axial profile short for installation in compact gantries and closely spaced multi-axis assemblies.
The integrated 24 V DC holding brake clamps the rotor when brake power is removed, preventing inertial or gravitational loads from drifting while the axis is stationary. Depending on the selected stack extension, the brake can maintain static torque from 9 Nm to 20 Nm for medium-mass tooling and similar loads. Brake operation is controlled separately from the motor windings, allowing the drive system to coordinate shaft release with motion commands. A smooth shaft transfers torque through a shrink disc or clamping hub, providing secure engagement without a keyed connection. The stator uses winding code E, which balances resistance and inductance for general-purpose operating cycles and supports stable drive response across the intended speed range.
