Product Description:
The AM3043-0G20-0000 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It provides closed-loop rotary motion where tight velocity and position regulation are required, allowing machine builders to synchronize axes with EtherCAT or other digital drives. With its standardized mechanical interface and electronic feedback, the unit integrates into automated pick-and-place stations, conveyor systems, and indexing tables. In a servo system, the feedback device lets the amplifier correct load-related speed and position errors during acceleration, dwell, and index moves. It serves as the direct electromechanical element that turns electrical power into repeatable shaft movement.
A square flange measuring 87 mm sets the mounting pattern and centers the stator on adjoining frames. Electrical and encoder conductors exit through a rotatable angular connector, and an optional terminal box can also be used, so cable orientation can match cabinet routing without strain. Rotor position is captured by the OCT multi-turn sensor, giving the drive absolute position information over several revolutions for homing-free startup. Because the feedback is absolute over multiple turns, the axis can retain position knowledge after power cycling when the connected control supports it. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, which accepts clamp couplings or precision gearheads without keyway backlash. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, making it suited to horizontal axes or applications where static torque from the drive is sufficient to maintain position during shutdown.
The motor uses overall length code 3, which provides a medium magnetic stack that balances continuous torque with envelope size. It also uses winding code G, so drive sizing can follow the standard current tables for this motor type. The unit is supplied in a standard version within the AM family. These coded attributes identify the installed motor length and winding combination without changing the shaft, feedback, or brake features described elsewhere.
