Product Description:
The AM3042-0G01-0000 synchronous servo motor is produced by Beckhoff as part of the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion control, it supplies commanded torque and speed to axes in packaging machines, pick-and-place gantries, and material-handling cells. By combining a permanent-magnet rotor with electronic feedback, the unit helps drives maintain accurate positioning and repeatable cycle times in general automation. This type of motor is commonly used where rapid acceleration, steady speed regulation, and compact installation are all important to machine performance.
The spring-applied holding brake releases only when 24 VDC is present, allowing the shaft to remain fixed during a power loss or stop condition. Rotor position is detected with a two-pole resolver, providing rotor angle feedback that remains stable under vibration and electrical noise. Mounting follows an 87 mm square flange pattern, so the housing mates directly with common gearboxes or machine frames. To resist static loads on vertical axes, the brake provides 9 Nm of holding torque. Continuous current capability and thermal behavior are matched to the G winding code, which sets the electrical characteristics used with compatible Beckhoff servo amplifiers.
Field wiring is simplified by the rotatable angular connector or terminal box, which can be turned to direct power and feedback cables toward the nearest cable path. The output end uses a smooth shaft, allowing clamp couplings to seat without keyways and helping reduce imbalance at higher speeds. An Overall Length Code 2 housing keeps the motor short for installations with limited depth behind the mounting face. The motor is supplied in the Standard version, making it suitable for general automation layouts that do not require special mechanical modifications or added cooling hardware. This arrangement supports straightforward integration where cable routing space and compact machine geometry matter as much as motion accuracy.
