Beckhoff manufactures the AM3031-0BB1-0005 synchronous servo motor within the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. The unit is supplied in the Standard version for use as a compact rotary actuator. It converts commands from a compatible Beckhoff servo inverter into controlled mechanical motion for automation cells, CNC axes, and material-handling stations. Electronic commutation and closed-loop feedback support accurate torque, speed, and position control as operating loads change. Its compact format allows the motor to fit machine layouts where installation space is limited.
The integrated holding brake operates from a 24 VDC control supply and secures the shaft when motor power is removed, helping prevent vertical loads from drifting. Closed-loop feedback is provided by an OCT multi-turn encoder with a 23-bit resolution, allowing the controller to detect 8,388,608 discrete positions per revolution. Multi-turn position memory preserves the absolute shaft position through power interruptions, allowing operation to resume without a separate homing move. The motor uses a 72 mm square flange that supports secure face mounting in compact machines.
