The AM3024-0D01 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it positions machine elements with high repeatability through closed-loop motion control. The motor is intended for automated assembly cells, printing lines, material-handling stations, and other machinery that requires accurate positioning and responsive speed regulation.
The motor mounts to a machine frame through a 58 mm square flange, so its bolt pattern accommodates compact planetary gearboxes and IEC adapters of the same size. A smooth shaft allows backlash-free clamping couplings to be installed directly on the rotor without keyways or set screws. Position feedback is delivered by a two-pole resolver, which produces analog sine-cosine signals that the drive converts into position data over a full electrical cycle. For vertical or suspended loads, a factory-installed 24 V holding brake engages whenever power is removed. Its electromagnetic design keeps the rotor locked until voltage is restored. The brake provides up to 2 N·m of static holding torque, helping prevent load drift during shutdowns or emergency stops.
The brake coil operates from a 24 VDC supply, so the control cabinet must route a dedicated low-voltage line to the motor connector. The motor has the Standard configuration, with housing geometry, bearing selection, and winding insulation that follow the regular configuration for this series. An overall length code of 4 indicates the stack depth used to reach the applicable torque class without increasing the flange dimensions. This arrangement provides additional magnetic stack length while preserving the compact mounting footprint required in space-limited machinery. The stator uses winding code D, which establishes the electrical resistance and inductance values used by a compatible servo drive. These values allow the drive to calculate suitable current limits, acceleration profiles, and thermal models for the motor’s electromagnetic characteristics.
