The AM3023-0D31 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Beckhoff for the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for industrial automation, it converts regulated current from a matched drive into controlled torque and speed so that indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and packaging stations can move to exact positions within milliseconds. The motor’s compact frame and standardized mounting support integration into new machines where space-efficient, controlled motion is required.
Its mechanical interface uses a 58 mm square flange, allowing direct coupling to compatible IEC gearboxes without additional adapter plates. Output torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, which supports clamp hubs and friction couplings in applications where backlash must be minimized. Rotor position is monitored by a Hiperface single-turn encoder with 128 SinCos periods from F6. Its sinusoidal tracks provide fine-grained angular data that the controller can use for precise speed and position regulation. The motor also includes a 24 V holding brake that engages when the drive is disabled, helping prevent axis drift during power loss or safety stops.
Static load retention is supported by a holding torque of 2 Nm, which can secure light vertical loads or gripper jaws without external clamps. The stator uses winding code D, which corresponds to electrical resistance and inductance values suited to compatible medium-current Beckhoff drives. The housing uses overall length code 3, balancing continuous output capability with a compact axial profile. The unit is classified as the Standard type within the series. This configuration does not include special cooling channels or sealed bearings. Its straightforward arrangement supports installation in automated machinery without requiring additional cooling hardware.
