Product Description:
The AM3022-2C00-0000 is a compact rotary actuator manufactured by Beckhoff for the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This synchronous servo motor converts drive-controlled three-phase current into accurately timed torque, enabling closed-loop positioning of feeders, gantries, and indexing tables within automated production equipment. Permanent-magnet excitation and resolver feedback maintain a consistent relationship between electrical angle and mechanical position, allowing the automation controller to synchronize multiple axes without mechanical gearing. The motor follows IEC conventions for compatibility with standardized mounting interfaces used in industrial motion systems.
Electrical integration is simplified by a rotatable angular connector or terminal box, allowing power and feedback lines to be aligned with the machine’s cable routing without turning the stator housing. A two-pole resolver supplies analog sine-cosine signals that the drive uses to determine the rotor angle and maintain responsive closed-loop control. The motor attaches to machinery through a 58 mm square flange, which is suitable for many compact gearheads and bearing blocks. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, eliminating the stress concentrations associated with a machined keyway. A radial shaft-sealing ring rated IP65 closes the output end to help protect the internal bearings from oil mist, fine dust, and water spray.
The motor has an overall length code of 2, providing sufficient stack depth for continuous torque while keeping the housing compact. Its winding code C indicates the electrical winding arrangement used with compatible Beckhoff servo drives. The selected winding affects electrical characteristics such as resistance and inductance, which the drive uses to regulate current during acceleration, deceleration, and steady operation. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so drive-applied torque or an external clamping device must secure the load when power is removed. This brake configuration reduces additional rotating mass, but vertical or gravity-loaded axes require a separate method of preventing unintended movement while the drive is disabled.
