Product Description:
The AM3021-1C40-0000 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Beckhoff within the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator for industrial automation, it converts controller drive signals into precise mechanical motion. This supports positioning and speed-control tasks on machinery where accurate rotary response is required. Its compact housing also helps it fit installations where available mounting space is limited. The motor is intended for closed-loop operation in systems that require repeatable motion.
The motor uses a C winding, which gives it specific electrical characteristics and permissible current density. A flange size of 58 mm provides the mounting interface for gearheads or machine frames, which is useful in compact axis layouts. The encoder system uses a Hiperface multi-turn 128 SinCos from F6 sensor for absolute position feedback over multiple revolutions. This feedback arrangement allows the drive to retain shaft position information through repeated turns instead of relying only on incremental counting. Wiring uses a rotatable angular connector or terminal box, so the cable exit direction can be aligned with the surrounding cabinet layout. Mechanical key dimensions follow DIN 6885, which keeps the shaft and coupling connection compatible with standard keyed components.
Because the unit is supplied without a holding brake, load position must be maintained by drive torque or an external clamping element when power is removed. That arrangement is suitable for axes that already use another method to hold position at standstill. The housing uses overall length code 1, which keeps the motor short in the axial direction and can help where clearance behind the mounting face is limited. Output torque is transferred by a shaft with groove and feather key, which fits hubs and couplings that use a parallel key. The motor is supplied in the Standard version, so it comes without optional coatings, seals, or reinforced bearings and is intended for general industrial servo applications.
