The AM3011-0BB0-0001 servo motor is produced by Beckhoff for the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for compact machinery, it converts drive commands into controlled torque and speed for pick-and-place stations, indexing tables, and small packaging axes. Its mechanical size, electrical interface, and encoder protocol support connection to compatible Beckhoff AX drives and EtherCAT motion networks without additional adapters. The compact housing also allows the motor to operate in machines where installation space is limited and responsive axis movement is required.
The mechanical interface uses a 40 mm square flange that fits tight mounting plates or planetary gearheads. Position feedback is delivered with 23-bit resolution, providing 8,388,608 discrete increments per revolution for precise closed-loop control. The encoder uses OCT multi-turn technology to retain absolute position over multiple revolutions without batteries, eliminating the need for homing cycles after a loss of power. This model is supplied without a holding brake, so static load retention must be managed externally or through continuous drive torque. Output torque passes through a smooth shaft, which eliminates keyway stress and simplifies coupling alignment in low-backlash assemblies. Clamping couplings can secure the shaft while maintaining concentric alignment between the motor and the connected load.
The electromagnetic stack uses winding code B, providing voltage and current characteristics suited to Beckhoff micro-inverters in the 48–100 V class. An overall length designation of 1 indicates the shortest rotor-stator combination available for this frame, reducing inertia and enabling fast settling during high-cycle positioning. The motor is supplied in the Standard version, without optional cooling jackets, reinforced bearings, or specialized coatings.
