The AM247L-0000 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Beckhoff within the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, the unit converts drive-controller current into precise shaft motion for indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, and other closed-loop axes. Its 194 mm flange mounts directly to standard machine frames, the smooth shaft couples to clamp sleeves or other friction-locking hubs, and resolver feedback supplies two-pole rotor position data to the control loop. For systems that rely on external mechanical locking, the motor is supplied without a holding brake.
During continuous operation, the motor delivers 0.47 kW of mechanical output at a shaft speed of 3000 rpm. At that speed, it produces a continuous torque of 2.2 Nm when the drive provides a nominal phase current of 2 A. When rapid acceleration is required, the controller may supply up to 9 A, and each ampere contributes torque according to the proportional factor of 1.33 Nm/A. A 15-minute thermal time constant shows how quickly copper temperature follows load changes, while the 81 V/1000 rpm voltage constant indicates the back EMF that the drive must overcome. The 25 mH winding inductance and 11 Ω resistance shape current rise and copper losses.
At zero speed, the magnetic system can hold 3 Nm with a standstill current of 2.3 A, giving useful torque margin for static clamping units. The laminated rotor has an inertia of 1.6 kg·cm², so acceleration to rated speed can remain responsive without excessive overshoot. Shaft bearings tolerate axial forces up to 90 N and radial forces up to 270 N, supporting belt pulleys or pinions mounted directly on the smooth shaft. With a mass of 3.5 kg, the motor imposes relatively low structural loading and can be installed on moving gantries where short cycle times and accurate resolver feedback are required.
