Product Description:
The X20BR9300 bus receiver module is manufactured by B&R Automation and belongs to the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Designed for distributed control architectures, the receiver terminates an X20 I/O segment and converts field wiring into the X2X communication format, allowing the controller to add or remove slices without rewiring. Within an automation cell, it provides the electrical and logical interface that ties mixed digital and analog terminals back to the central processor.
Its backplane connection uses a Remote X2X Link, so both real-time data and supply lines are routed over the base carrier. The module’s internal electronics need only 0.4 W for bus processing, yet it can forward up to 7 W of bus supply power to subsequent nodes. A collective I/O current limit of 10 A protects traces and connectors from excessive load. Internal distribution is supported by an integrated I/O supply rated for 240 W, which is the maximum combined power that attached terminal blocks may draw before an external feed is required. Additional diagnostics consume 0.6 W internally, and the X2X link supply is integrated, so no separate fieldbus power injector is required.
The unit is classified in Overvoltage Category II, which means it is intended for transient levels typical of protected low-voltage installations. The housing carries a protection rating of IP20, so it must be mounted inside an enclosure but still offers touch-safe terminals for tool-free servicing. The electronics are validated to withstand mechanical impacts of 15 g shock and continuous vibration of 1 g, allowing installation on machine frames or mobile equipment without additional damping. During operation, the integrated X2X link consumes 1.62 W, while the remaining I/O rails retain their own isolation through the internal supply architecture for consistent power distribution across modular segments.
