The 3IF797.9 is a unique aPCI module manufactured and designed by B&R Automation for its various interface module slots. As mentioned earlier, the 3IF797.9 offers a total of three interface ports for establishing three different types of communication. The interface IF1 is dedicated for RS232 communication and features a 9-pin DSUB connector design. During operation, this interface can operate at a maximum transfer rate of 115.2 kBit/sec. On the other hand, the second interface of this module, which features a 4-pin multipoint connector, is dedicated for establishing CAN bus communication. The second interface can run at a maximum transfer rate of 500 kBit/s. Finally, the third interface is for the X2X link master protocol.
