Originally designed to connect I/O modules to a processing unit like a CPU or controller device, this unit can transmit data and signals over long distances. At most, this module can handle 31 remote slaves sharing a bus cable within an automation system. Like other remote modules, this product by B&R offers an electrically isolated RS485 interface.
