Product Description:
B&R Automation’s 3EX150.60-1 is a high-tech remote master module engineered and released under the 2005 bus module series. Originally designed to connect I/O modules to a processing unit like a CPU or controller device, this unit can transmit data and signals over long distances. At most, this module can handle 31 remote slaves sharing a bus cable within an automation system. Like other remote modules, this product by B&R offers an electrically isolated RS485 interface. During operation, the amount of power this device draws may vary depending on the voltage level applied. At the terminal voltage supply of 5V, the maximum power consumption of this module is around 5.5 watts.
To establish communication with other RS485-compatible devices, this 3EX150.60-1 utilizes a 9-pin DSUB socket. Depending on the length of the cable used to establish the connection between this controller and another unit, the applicable baud rate may vary. At a maximum cable length of 1200 m, the typical baud rate can fall as low as 100 kBit/s. For short transmission cables, having a maximum distance of 100 m, the applicable baud rate can go as high as 2000 kBit/s.
Similar to other 2005 bus modules, the 3EX150.60-1 operates using the master-slave principle. Under this access procedure, a device can typically be configured as a master device, which can control other electrical modules configured as slaves. As a remote controller module, this unit is typically configured as a master device. However, for very complex systems and applications, it can also be used as a slave unit. At most, this electrical module can run alongside eight other remote I/O masters. Wake Industrial provides a unit warranty for this device with a validity of one year.
