The 0G0010.00-090 cable is produced by B & R Automation for the System 2005 Controllers series and functions as a local expansion medium inside a modular PLC rack. In industrial automation, it transfers parallel I/O data across adjacent controller sections, letting the CPU read or write additional field channels without separate communication cards. By linking an expansion master board to downstream slave boards, the cable keeps signal timing consistent and shortens internal wiring runs within a control cabinet. This makes it suitable for compact control systems that need more connected I/O without adding extra network hardware inside the rack.
This link permits up to 4 B&R 2005 backplanes to be chained so that an individual processor can address every slot as if it were on one board. When the architecture is upgraded to a B&R 2010 platform, the same assembly allows as many as 10 bus segments on the native controller rail. The cable’s function is I/O Bus Expansion, so it carries parallel address, data, and control lines rather than power. Its connection role is Expansion Master To Slaves, so the first plug must occupy the master header while the remaining plugs connect to subordinate boards. Data transfer takes place in Local Bus mode, keeping signals inside the cabinet without the latency of remote network gateways.
