The 3IF762.9 is an aPCI interface module. The module provides a PROFIBUS DP interface as Interface 1 to support secure data transfer in distributed automation networks. The module has a safe communication for industrial control applications with data rate transmission capability up to 115.2 kBit/sec in Interface 1.

The slave interface for PROFIBUS DP also increases its provision further with support to give a data transfer up to 12 MBit/sec capacity so as to connect and support the data communications high-speed, exact way in-between module to the attached field devices. The module is flexible for longer lengths and can accommodate up to 1200-meter cables, providing for the ability to be fitted in extremely large systems. PROFIBUS DP node addressing is done with two hex switches available on the module itself, thus making it convenient to assign addresses without the use of software tools. Power in the PROFIBUS DP side is 1.29 W when powered from 5 V, which makes the module energy-efficient and suitable for space-constrained low-power applications. It is rated for IP20 protection, i.e., it is intended for mounting inside enclosures where protection against solid objects and dust is required but not against liquids. Its working construction ensures secure operation in various conditions of the environment with storage temperature range of -25C to +70C.
