Product Description:

The MCMHEH-0 is an MCN series power supply module from B & R Automation. It provides regulated DC output for industrial control systems and it operates on 90 to 130 VAC input voltage, with an input frequency range between 50 and 60 Hz. This power supply fits in a standard 19-inch rack and its overall dimensions are 19 x 3.5 x 7.05 inches.

The MCMHEH-0 power supply provides a clean output voltage of 27.6 VDC with ±150 mV tolerance and 25 mV RMS of maximum ripple. It maintains 0.20% of line regulation during voltage fluctuation and provides 0.75% load regulation under varying conditions. This module delivers 13.0 A of continuous current at 25 °C and its current limiting protection is set at 15.5 A, along with an input protection via an 8 A fuse. Its minimum operating efficiency is rated at 85% and it includes a 3-digit LCD for voltage and current display. The MCM power supply features a toggle switch to select display mode on the front panel and it comes with an illuminated on/off switch. Its display and switches are mounted on the front panel for easy access while its DC output connection is provided through a rear terminal block. This MCM power supply supports multiple independently fused output devices and it uses screw terminal plugs for both input/output connections.

The MCMHEH-0 power supply has relay-driven status signals for monitoring faults and its solid-state relays drive three output signals that are referenced to COM, each signal supports 60 VDC at 0.5 A current. It operates in temperatures from -46°C to +52°C and comes enclosed in a durable metal rack-mount chassis construction. This MCM power supply complies with UL1012 and CSA C22.2 standards.

Frequently Asked Questions about MCMHEH-0:

Q: How does the 0.20% line regulation benefit the MCMHEH-0?

A: The 0.20% line regulation ensures stable output voltage even during fluctuations in input voltage, minimizing disruptions to connected systems. This precision is crucial for maintaining consistent performance in industrial control applications.

Q: What is the purpose of the 8 A fuse in the MCMHEH-0 power supply?

A: The 8 A fuse provides protection by preventing excessive current from reaching the system, safeguarding both the power supply and the connected devices. This feature is essential for ensuring the longevity of the power supply and connected equipment.

Q: How does the MCMHEH-0 handle temperature fluctuations?

A: The power supply can operate in extreme temperatures from -46°C to +52°C, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial environments. This broad temperature range ensures reliable performance in both cold and hot settings.

Q: What is the benefit of the solid-state relays in the MCMHEH-0?

A: The solid-state relays in the MCMHEH-0 drive three output signals, providing enhanced monitoring for system faults. This feature helps to improve fault detection and system reliability in critical industrial applications.

Q: Why is the current limiting set at 15.5 A in the MCMHEH-0?

A: The 15.5 A current limiting provides overcurrent protection, ensuring that the power supply doesn’t exceed safe operating limits. This is critical for preventing damage to both the power supply and connected devices.
