Product Description:
The ECZ081-0 is a modular time controller produced by B&R Automation for the ECZ Multi Analog Modules series. It fits on a standard I/O rack and converts multi-analog signals into timed relay actions inside automated machinery. By combining a multifunction timer with eight independent analog inputs and one relay output, the module simplifies sequencing tasks such as delayed starts, pulse stretching, or interval generation in industrial control panels. This arrangement lets changing process values trigger timed responses without requiring a separate timing module.
This unit processes up to 8 channels of multi-analog data and energizes its output through a relay contact, eliminating the need for a separate solid-state switching device. The logic circuitry is powered from a 24 VDC field supply, so it can be wired directly to common control power buses. Protective construction meets the IP20 rating, which allows installation in ventilated enclosures. The electronic components remain functional within an ambient range of -20 to +60 °C, making the module suitable for refrigerated processing areas as well as heated machine frames. Signal normalization and scaling are handled internally, so incoming analog values can be applied to time-based operations without external converters.
User adjustment is performed with an onboard internal potentiometer, which sets the timing window from 0.1 s to 10 h. During operation, the mechanical relay can switch loads up to 5 A at 250 VAC, permitting direct control of contactors, solenoids, or lamps without an interposing relay. A resolution of 0.1 s provides fine granularity for short pulses, while the wider timing span also supports longer dwell periods in process equipment. This makes the module useful for simple hardware-based delay functions when a full software routine is unnecessary.
